With 2,600 tourists on board, the cruise ship Sapphire Princess arrived this Tuesday morning in Saranda. Due to its large size, the ship anchored offshore and has begun transporting passengers to the city using its own tender boats.
It is reported that tourists have already disembarked and started visiting the city. The group of tourists comes from mixed nationalities. The cruise arrived in Saranda from Italy and will depart later this Tuesday afternoon for Greece.
The “Sapphire Princess,” sailing under the Bermuda flag, has a length of 290 meters, a gross tonnage of 116,000 tons, and a crew of 1,400 people.
“Sapphire Princess” debuted in 2004 as the fifth ship in the Grand Class of Princess Cruises.
