The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met this Monday with the German ambassador, Rainer Rudolph. The Presidency released details from the meeting, noting that recent political developments in the country were discussed, as well as the close cooperation between Kosovo and Germany.

Osmani praised the relations between the two countries and expressed the deep gratitude of the people of Kosovo for Germany’s continued support in key processes of state-building, democratic development, and advancing Kosovo’s international position.

She also thanked Ambassador Rudolph for his personal contribution to strengthening relations between Kosovo and Germany during his mandate.

The German Embassy also reacted regarding the meeting. In a post on Facebook, it stated that Kosovo and Germany share a strong commitment to freedom and democracy. It is learned that Rudolph gifted Osmani a book on the history of the Berlin Wall.

The embassy emphasized that this book is a reminder of how political decisions can both divide and reunite at the same time.

“Warmest wishes to President Osmani for her future engagements, both professionally and personally,” the German Embassy added.
