Israel’s ambassador to Albania, Galit Peleg, said in an interview with Euronews Albania that NATO countries should support the United States and Israel in the military campaign launched against Iran. According to her, in order to fulfill the mission against a dictatorial regime like Iran, countries must go beyond their individual interests.

“Regarding NATO and the EU: first of all, not all NATO countries support us. Major countries initially listened to President Trump, as I mentioned earlier in response to the Japanese journalist regarding the element of surprise in this operation. But the question we should ask is: where would we be today if the United States had not intervened in World War II? In some cases, we must cooperate to defeat an evil force. I don’t know what the world would look like without America’s intervention, or what Albania and European countries would be like today.

To support such a campaign, I believe we must go beyond the individual interests of each country. When we are dealing with an extreme, non-democratic regime that kills its own people and spreads terror beyond its borders, when we have terrorist attacks supported by Iran, as has happened in Argentina and elsewhere, and you stand by while they develop nuclear weapons, you must carefully consider your steps. The issue is not whether EU countries were informed in advance, but that they must be on the right side of history.

Another issue is to prevent the war from reaching their own borders. So far, Iran has had no interest in striking London with missiles, but we have seen Iran attack Dubai, which until recently was considered a friendly place, and today there are casualties. Therefore, we are dealing with a regime that cannot be trusted, and one cannot remain indifferent while others do the work for you,” the ambassador said.
