The Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Albania, Nancy VanHorn, has held a series of meetings in recent weeks with members of the new government cabinet, reaffirming cooperation between the two countries and the priorities of the U.S. administration.
These meetings focused on Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu, as well as ministers Ermal Nufi, Ferit Hoxha, Enea Karakaçi, Toni Gogu, Besfort Lamallari and Erjona Ismaili.
According to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Albania, the discussions reiterated the United States’ commitment to implementing the priorities of the administration of Donald Trump. These include combating organized crime and eliminating criminal cartels, increasing NATO countries’ contributions to defense, and ensuring fair conditions for U.S. companies operating in Albania.
The Embassy emphasized that cooperation with Albanian institutions will continue in order to achieve concrete results, both for Albanian and American citizens.
