Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that Albania is closer than ever to the European Union. Speaking from Durrës during the 35th anniversary celebration of the Socialist Party of Albania in the city, Rama stated that starting tomorrow, the process of closing negotiation chapter clusters will begin with the Albania–EU Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels.
“It so happens that today is also the day before tomorrow’s Albania–EU Intergovernmental Conference, where the opening of the final phase of negotiations with the European Union will be sealed. Albania, after opening all chapters in record time, is now considered ready to begin closing the negotiation chapters. Tomorrow’s conference will take place according to schedule, with the shared goal of concluding accession negotiations by 2027. It is now a peak we can already see clearly, and the road toward it has been mapped out. Even the timeframe to travel that road has been planned. Today, we are closer than ever to the European Union,” Rama emphasized.
