At a time when marketing is increasingly shifting to the digital space, Albanian businesses are emerging among the most active in Europe in their use of social media. According to Eurostat data, the vast majority of companies in the country have turned social media platforms into an important channel for communication and promotion.

Statistics show that 86% of Albanian enterprises with more than 10 employees use social media for business purposes, a figure significantly higher than the European Union average of 63.5%.

This result ranks Albania fourth in Europe for social media use among businesses. Only Finland, Malta, and Denmark report higher levels, placing Albania ahead of many developed European economies in terms of digital marketing adoption.

Experts note that Albanian businesses increasingly view the internet as one of the most effective tools for communicating with customers. Social media is no longer used solely for advertising but also for increasing brand awareness, showcasing new products and services, and establishing direct communication with consumers.

In the region, Montenegro also ranks among the countries with high levels of social media use by businesses, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia report lower rates. This indicates that Albanian companies are among the most active in the Balkans when it comes to online promotion and marketing.

The growing use of social media is linked to lower advertising costs compared to traditional media, as well as the ability to reach a broader and more targeted audience. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years as businesses invest increasingly in their digital presence.
