Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, announced late on Wednesday that the European Union has approved projects requested by Kosovo, along with grants worth a total of €206 million.

In a Facebook post, Kurti said the EU had officially informed Kosovo that the IPA Committee had approved the country’s proposed projects under the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programmes, worth €180.5 million.

He also said that three grants under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), with a total value of €25.9 million, had been approved.

However, before Kosovo can access these funds, they must first be approved by the European Commission, after which the financial agreement must be signed and ratified by the Kosovo Assembly.

Kosovo currently does not have a functional parliament, but it is expected to be constituted in the coming days following the official certification of the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
