The fire that occurred yesterday in a building in Tirana in the area of Square 21 burned 16 apartments, while 3 of them were completely burnt. Most of the residents say that they bought the apartments with a loan and if they don’t get help for the situation they will sue the construction company.

The fire is thought to have started on the second floor, and then spread to all floors. The police continue to keep the area surrounded, as a full expertise of the event has not yet been done.

“One room was damaged, 70% was burned. Three people lived there. From what I saw the fire come out of the second floor and went up. We have been living in this building for less than a year, the wardrobe and the bed have burned, almost 70% are not recoverable. We stayed last night at our friend,” said a man.

The Building that is burned is a recent construction. The price per square meter starts from 1700 euros, and most of the residents already have another concern.

“There is no more touching moment. How many years does it take to pay off the loan, it takes a long time. With this, I need two lifetimes of work to get back the money,” said a gentleman.

So far, it is thought that there are 16 burned entrances, where at least 3 of them are completely destroyed by the flames, and as a result are unrecoverable.

The residents say that if they do not find a solution, they will all come together to seek justice from the construction company for the poor quality of the building’s construction.

According to experts, the polyester helped the flames spread.
