The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, delivered his remarks at the campaign’s closing rally, as Kosovo heads to the polls on Sunday. During his speech, Haradinaj pledged to double wages and pensions.

He stressed that membership in NATO and a change in economic approach are crucial for stability, attracting investment, and reducing prices.

“We will increase wages, pensions, and allowances by doubling them—we have planned it, written it, and explained it. Every citizen can see that wages will increase. I ask you: who can free Kosovo from the energy mafia—does anyone in this country have the strength to do so?”

Haradinaj said Kosovo is currently being pushed toward economic hardship by what he described as an “energy mafia” that has captured those in power.

“Today we are humiliated; the energy mafia is almost leading us into economic destruction. I am not concerned about these traders or this energy mafia—someone must protect the people and free them from this price nightmare, because energy costs are driving up all other prices,” he said.

He added that Kosovo must urgently complete the process of joining NATO to ensure long-term stability and security, alongside changing the political and economic approach.

“List 129—our program—together with you puts us in the best position to bring Kosovo into NATO and provide lasting security. That security helps economic development, encourages cooperation with everyone, and moves us away from the cycle of crises and misguided messages. When our rhetoric is constantly about conflict, it’s normal that there are no investments.”

Haradinaj called on citizens across Kosovo to support these priorities, warning that failure to act would worsen conditions, while swift action would help lower prices.

According to him, AAK’s program aims to deliver security, economic development, and well-being for every citizen. He also pledged that AAK would stand by families, workers, doctors, farmers, and businesses, with the goal of building a more stable and prosperous Kosovo.
