Activist Dea Lala has spoken about an initiative they have recently undertaken to boycott all Serbian products in Kosovo.
During an interview for Euronews Albania, she said that many local stores and brands are placing different countries’ flags on Serbian products, in an attempt to manipulate consumers, an action which she considered utterly abusive.
She further stated that in relation to this issue, a campaign was started on social media.
“There are consumers who can hardly identify Serbian products, but we are trying to make sure that flags should be placed on all the shelves and products from their actual place of origin. But there have been many cases that this has been misused and this time we have also had many cases where stores have been notified, and for various reasons, they have placed flags of other countries on a product that was in fact Serbian. For this reason, a campaign has been launched on social media to fight against this phenomenon,” – said Lala.
