On Tuesday, an Afghan woman gave birth at the hospital of Skopje in North Macedonia just shortly after landing.
She is among the 149 Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban rule and receiving a temporary residence in North Macedonia.
The Health Ministry confirmed that both the mother and the baby are in a good condition.
On Monday, North Macedonia welcomed its first group of Afghan refugees greeted by top state officials.
Currently, they are being accommodated at a hotel near Skopje International Airport where they will undergo procedures in order to travel towards the United States.
