The National Food Authority (AKU) announced this Thursday the withdrawal from the market of an infant formula following an alert issued by the European food safety system RASFF. During official inspections carried out in Germany, the presence of cereulide—a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus—was detected in infant formula.

According to the AKU, the product concerned is Aptamil 1 Pronutra 800g Advanced, with article number 172911 and expiration date 10 November 2026. Inspection teams have been deployed in the field to verify and immediately remove the product from the market.

The National Food Authority urges consumers who have purchased this infant formula and are still using it to return it to the points of sale and avoid consumption. Food safety remains a shared challenge.
