Albania this year has seen a high increase in foreign vacationers who have chosen to spent their vacations in the beautiful Albania.
The data published by the Institute of Statistics for accommodation structures show a 76.4% increase in non-resident visitors since the month of June.
The official report states that the total number of visitors has increased by 49.7%, compared to June 2022, while the number of resident visitors has increased by 12.2% and non-resident visitors has increased by 76.4%.
As for the citizenship of the visitors, INSTAT notes that apart from the Kosovar Albanians who historically have the highest figure, the Poles are the ones who lead from the EU countries with 9.2%, the Italians rank behind them with 8.3% and then come Germany with 7 % and Spain with 4.3 %.
South of Albania remains the main holiday destination, both foreign and local.
According to INSTAT, the number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in the South Region has recorded the highest growth by 2.5 times. In Coastal Areas, this indicator has increased by 75%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in “Hotels and similar accommodations” has increased by 70%.
91.2% have chosen to stay in hotels and similar structures.
Visitors have stayed longer this time in Albania, causing the number of overnight stays to increase by 52.8%, compared to the month of June 2022.
