Albania expands import-export with the region

In April, imports and exports increased both in value and weight. The data released by INSTAT on foreign trade show that exports reached 35 billion ALL, with an increase of 1.8%, while imports reached 75 billion ALL with a slight increase, 0.6% compared to April of last year.

According to the figures, Albania has expanded its foreign trade in exports, with three countries in the region in addition to Montenegro and Serbia. With Montenegro, Albania exchanged 102 million lek less goods or 10% less and with Serbia 1.4% less.

On the other hand, trade relations with other countries of the region have been strengthened. Specifically, Albania has increased exports in value by 5.1% in Kosovo, 4.9% in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 91.4% in North Macedonia.

As for imports in value, Albania has expanded trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, and has significantly decreased with Montenegro.

In addition to the change in value of foreign trade indicators, the weight of goods exported to the countries of the region was also taken into the analysis.

The data show that both imports and exports by weight have increased with all regional partners. Specifically, Albanian country increased the volume of goods exported to Montenegro by 13%, Bosnia and Herzegovina by 12% and Kosovo by 30%
