Thanks to improved safety, competitive prices and human resources—Albania improved its ranking in the latest World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 2019 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index.
Released earlier this week, the Report ranks Albania 86th among 140 Countries, with a score of 3.6 points on the Tourism Index Scale. The World Economic Forum (WEF) says, that scores in the Report range from the lowest being a one (1) to the highest being a seven (7).
Albania has made improvements to its overall performance, compared to North Macedonia (3.4 points) and Bosnia Herzegovina (3.3 points). According to the WEF, in the last two years, the Country has moved up twelve spots to be ranked 86th Globally.
According to the Report, Albania showed improvements in safety (5.8 points), hygiene (5.3 points), competitive prices (5.3 points), human resources (5.1 points), and other tourism priorities (5 points). The Report indicated that Albania ranked the lowest in terms of Cultural Resources and Business Travel (1.2 points), Air Transportation (2.1 points), Natural Resources (2.9 points), Seaport Infrastructure (3.1 points), and overall Tourism Infrastructure (4 points).
The 2019 Tourism Index, ranks Spain at the very top—followed by France, Germany, and Japan. Meanwhile, the United States of America has replaced the United Kingdom as one of the Top Five Best Countries.
