3 years ago on March 9, 2020, the first two cases of COVID-19 were identified in Albania.

The news that father and son were affected by the virus, first discovered in Wuhan, China, until that mysterious moment, caused panic. Just 2 days later, the World Health Organization announced the pandemic level. In the balance of these 3 years, Albania counts 333,608 infected and 3,600 lives lost, among which 58 were doctors and medical staff in service. In January 2021, Albania started the application of anticovid vaccines, initially to white shirts and then extended to the entire population over 16 years old. 2,042,781 people were tested as suspected of having COVID but only about 17% were found to be infected. The curve of infections with COVID has been declining.

Currently, there are 156 infected citizens in our country. 6 patients are hospitalized, the others are self-isolated at home.
