While the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, was in Lezha today to visit the works in the migrant camp, some activists gathered in protest against her arrival.

During Meloni and Rama speeches, activists protested with banners in their hands and Benito Mussolini’s speech in the background.

“April 7, 1939, Albania is Italian, November 5,” read the banner that the activists unfurled.

The activists were escorted by the Police and are being held in the premises of the police station, while they are still being interrogated.

As it is learned, the activists belong to the group which a little while ago also held a protest in front of the Constitutional Court at the time when the migrants’ agreement with Italy was being discussed there.

The agreement between Prime Ministers Edi Rama and Giorgia Meloni envisages the accommodation in Gjadër of African migrants who will return from Italy, who will stay there until a decision is made about their ‘fate’ in the neighboring country.
