Twenty-five citizens were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Monday, a little less than yesterday’s figure of 40 new cases.

Currently, there are 433 active infections across the country, of which 169 in Tirana.

Twenty citizens are receiving medical care at the Infective Diseases Hospital, but so far none of them are in the intensive therapy unit.

From the beginning of the outbreak, 2,457 citizens have succumbed to the virus.

The Ministry of Health announced that it will accelerate its vaccination campaign in August to include all citizens older than 18.

Health minister Ogerta Manastirliu announced the arrival of a batch of 50,000 Pfizer jabs on Monday and urged students to get vaccinated as the new academic year approaches.
