Albania has included in the list of sanctions three Iranian generals and the company behind the production of Shaheed drones.
Sanctioned are Generals Mohamed Hossein Bagheri, chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Sayed Hajatollah Kureishi, head of the research and industrial supply division at the Ministry of Defense of Iran, and Saed Aghajani, commander of the air force command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is the backbone of the Iranian drone program.
Iran’s research center for aviation industries, Shahed, has been placed on the sanctions list.
This company has developed and deployed the Iranian drones that have been used in recent months by Russia to attack Ukrainian road and energy infrastructure.
The list of those sanctioned continues with colonels and other leaders of Iran’s army and revolutionary guard, who are accused of being involved in the program to supply Russia with unmanned drones. It is suspected that Iran has helped Moscow with at least 2,000 drones for use in the war against Ukraine. Tehran denies the claims, while Russia says the drones are domestically produced.
