WHO experts will assist Albania in the process of implementing the international health regulation.

Albania thus becomes the second country in the region to take this step in response to health emergencies.

WHO representatives in Tirana emphasized that this assessment is a global instrument that places our country on the world map of health system safety standards.

For the health system, this is perhaps the most important exercise in the country, comparable to European integration in terms of importance and similarity.

It will be WHO experts who will help in this external evaluation that enables the identification and prioritization of the most urgent needs of our health system, to strengthen prevention, preparation and response to emergency situations that threaten public health and sustainable development of the country.

At the end of the process, which is expected to last 6 months, the experts will have a clear overview of the needs of our health system in response to health emergencies.
