Health minister Ogerta Manastirliu announced that on Monday all citizens older than 18 years old will be eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine by showing up at the nearest vaccination site with their ID.
“It will be the first open vaccination week for citizens older than 18 provided on all medical centers as well as massive vaccination sites”, said Manastirliu.
Adding that there will be several similar immunization campaigns throughout the summer season, Manastirliu also informed that more vaccine supplies will continue to arrive in the country.
The health minister urged citizens to be careful amid fears of the Delta strain and encouraged them to get vaccinated in order to prevent the spread of the new and more contagious variant.
Despite suspicions that the Delta strain had arrived in Albania, test results sent abroad confirmed the opposite.
