In March 2023, the number of local and foreign visitors who slept in Albanian hotels was higher than last March. Reports indicate that the increase is 30% and most individuals and families have come from abroad.

In numbers, foreign citizens are 40,500, while locals are 33,400. Even the nights of stay have increased in March, which shows that the country is well on its way to a tourist season beyond the summer period.

The Institute of Statistics also classifies regions to see the offers and opportunities that people use to visit attractions in the country.

In this respect, the north and the south have seen growth, but in the south, there has been an influx of local residents, while the north has seen a strong increase in European citizens and beyond.

According to origin, in the month of March, 39% of residents came from Kosovo, Italy, Germany, England and France and the rest came from other regions of the world.

INSTAT only measures the official figures reported by hotels and accommodation structures, which means that the number of visitors may be higher, if we consider informality in the market.
