The Albanian and Italian State Police have continued meetings to consolidate cooperation between them, in the interest of the citizens of both countries.
Today, the Fourth Technical Round Table was organized with the participation of the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Julian Hodaj, the Ambassador of Italy, Fabrizio Bucci, the Director General of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, the Deputy Director General of Public Security of Italy, simultaneously Central Director of the Criminal Police, Prefect Raffaele Grassi, the head of the Liaison Office of the Interforce, at the same time an expert on security, Vice-Questor Salvatore Gava, senior leaders of the main departments of both polices and the Rector of the Security Academy of the State Police.
According to the Police announcement, it should be noted that the Technical Table, now a tradition of police partnership between the two countries, highlighted the results achieved so far, as well as defined the objectives for the future.

The State Police and the Italian Police consolidate cooperation built on reciprocity, trust and professionalism, in the interest of the citizens of both countries.

The results achieved this year, which are the most positive compared to any previous period, were influenced by the following aspects:
- The intensive work of 14 joint investigative teams, with experts from the State Police and the Italian Police, destroyed criminal organizations and groups, mainly in the field of drug trafficking, which operated in both countries and beyond;
- Unlimited aerial monitoring of the territory of our country, by the services of the Guardia di Finanza, to determine the coordinates, where immediately afterwards the services of the State Police intervened to strike the criminal activity of the cultivation of narcotic plants;
- The coordination of the work of the Police, from the Office of the Italian Interforce, in Albania and from the Office of the Security Expert at the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Albania, resulted in not having a single kilogram of cannabis sativa narcotics trafficked to Italy this year, through maritime routes;
- The joint patrols during the 2023 summer season built a very positive image for hundreds of thousands of Italian tourists and visitors who chose Albania. Also, they served to share the best police practices and to consolidate partnership and friendship between colleagues;
- The twinning of the 2 Security academies, the specialized training, the exchange of lecturers and the concrete steps to achieve a double degree, were a valuable contribution of both police forces, in terms of education and formation of the police elite;
- The IPA 2019 project “The fight against organized crime in the Western Balkans” and the EU4LEA project, developed with the support of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Italy, brought a new, much more active spirit in terms of the solid fight against organized crime and the daily battle of the Police officers, to guarantee the rule of law;
During the Fourth Technical Round Table, the leaders of the State Police and the Italian Police discussed concrete projects and agreements, which will improve the results in terms of guaranteeing public order, security, rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as intensify cooperation and partnership in the joint fight against organized crime, drug trafficking, illegal immigration and money laundering.
