For Albanians convicted and detained in Great Britain, will soon be possible for them to have books in the Albanian language in every prison where they serve their sentence.
Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, during a meeting with Albanian convicts in Britain, discussed their concerns.
Assistance with translation into Albanian, Albanian books, meetings with family members and respect for airtime, were some of the concerns raised by them.
Also, their education, rehabilitation and the opportunity to maintain contact with their families in Albania will be part of an ongoing project.
A day before, Albanian Justice Minister was in an official visit to London, where he also met with the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, Alex Chalk, with whom he formalized the start of the implementation of the agreement on Albanian citizens who are sentenced by Great Britain, to transfer them in Albania.
The press office of the Ministry of Justice in a communique for the media informed that “the agreement will have 0 financial cost for the Albanian state, as the British side covers the expenses for every day that the convicts will suffer their sentence in Albanian prisons”.
