From January to May 191.6 billion Albanian Lek has been added to the budget, or 31 billion Albanian Lek more than last year when the economy was suffering major losses due to the pandemic.

The fiscal indicators published by the Ministry of Finance show signs of recovery, while the sectors pitching in the largest contribution are trade and production.

Revenue from taxes, which includes value-added tax, income tax, as well as taxes and contributions paid until the month of May totaled 98.8 billion Albanian Lek or 12 billion more than in the first 5 months of 2020.

Regular payments for categories entitled to compensation, such as former owners or citizens that were persecuted during the communist regime, have also been accorded.

For the latter, compensation has continued at a faster pace, also due to the fact that the process is near its end.

On the other hand, expenditures were within the expectations.

They reached 212 billion ALL, realizing 97% of the plan while referring to last year’s expenditures grew by 13%.
