Since November, Albania is in a good situation of electricity production and sales. Albanian Electricity Corporation collected another 2.6 million euros this week.
Since November, Albania is producing electricity, and selling a part of it on the foreign market. The last auction was opened by AEC on April 30, and has collected 2.6 million euros for 40 thousand megawatts of energy sold.
This shows that the hydropower plants in Drini’s river have enough water and there is no need to buy from the foreign market.
For 6 months, all AEC operations have sold electricity and this comes from the good situation brought by the rains, giving the country the opportunity to recover from last year’s losses, when it spent more than 400 million euros.
The prices of this period of electricity in the Albanian stock market are around 100 euros, the same as those in the Hungarian stock market. However, even though the Albanian stock exchange has already been certified, the last auction was carried out through the publication of the announcement on the website of the AEC company, while the average price at which the energy was sold varies from 65 to 68 euros.
