The 50-year-old Albanian who killed his brother-in-law after learning that the latter had raped his 18-year-old daughter for 9 years in a row, has been released from prison and placed under “house arrest”
The news was announced by the Greek media, according to which the 50-year-old man was temporarily placed under “house arrest” at his daughter’s house, until the judicial council decides on him in five days.
The 50-year-old is accused of ‘intentional murder in a calm state of mind’, ‘use of a weapon’ and ‘arms possession without a permit’.
His daughters broke down in tears as soon as the verdict was announced
The 50-year-old’s daughters burst into tears of joy and happiness after the decision to release him with the only restrictive condition, staying at home. The man and his lawyers appeared before the prosecutor for about two hours.
Alexis Kougias, one of the defendant’s two lawyers, in his statements earlier and before the 18-year-old’s father was released, had stated that the 50-year-old is not a criminal and characterizing the case as “difficult”, since “the real circumstances of the crime must be evidenced, but also the circumstances that preceded it and the personality of the author”.
The 33-year-old brother-in-law who died after the 50-year-old’s gun attack, in addition to raping the 18-year-old, constantly blackmailed her with intimate videos in order to get money from her.
