According to recent data, Albanian men are more interested in cultural activities than women.

The 2023 culture statistics show that for two consecutive years, the trend was the same. Men were 31.3 percent participants in these activities compared to women, 28.4 percent. Part of the activities are theater, cinema, concerts, sports activities.

The data is based on the age of 16, where the data obtained by INSTAT comes from the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, as well as the number of shows and premieres organized during the year by central art institutions, depending on the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation.

During the year 2023, a total of 1,175 shows and premieres were organized in the central art institutions in which 153,041 spectators participated.

Over 1/3 of these spectators were received by the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Popular Ensemble, which recorded a participation of over 55,000 spectators, almost four times higher than a year ago. After it comes the National People’s Theater and the National Center of Culture for Children.

The Central State Film Archive has the lowest number among these institutions in terms of spectator participation, where the number in 2023 compared to the previous year has halved.
