President Bajram Begaj will not participate in the informal dinner that will be held in Athens on August 21.
In the answer to Euronews Albania, the presidency informs that Albania will not be participating in this dinner due to the agenda.
“In response to your interest, we inform you that on August 14, 2023, the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, sent an invitation to the President of the Republic, Sh.T.Z. Bajram Begaj, to attend an informal dinner on August 21, 2023, in Athens.
The day after, on August 15, 2023, President Begaj in the reply sent, after appreciating the attention that Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis pays to the developments related to the security of Europe, also expressed regret for the impossibility of participation due to an agenda defined earlier “- the presidency replied to Euronews Albania.
A little while ago, the Greek media reported that Albania will not be part of the meeting of the Balkan Leaders in Athens.
Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic, Montenegrin Jakov Milatovic, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, North Macedonian Dimitar Kovacevski and the president of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Kristo will be present.
“Albania, invited at the presidential level, will not be represented, while the leader of Slovenia could not respond positively,” – writes the media.
