Foreign citizens bought €253 million worth of real estate in Albania in the first half of this year, marking a new historical record, according to data published by the Bank of Albania.

In just six months, foreigners paid €253 million to purchase property in the country, including apartments, land, and business units.

Never before has so much money been spent by non-Albanian passport holders on acquiring property in Albania. Compared to the first half of 2024, purchases rose by about 38%, or €80 million more.

These figures show that real estate has become one of the main drivers of foreign investment inflows.

According to data from the Bank of Albania, in the second quarter alone, foreign investment in real estate in Albania reached €149 million — the highest figure ever recorded for this period of the year.

The data indicate that if the current pace continues, by December Albania could reach half a billion euros in foreign real estate investment.
