Ermonela Jaho was the latest guest on Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast, “Flasim”.
The internationally renowned Albanian soprano shared the challenges of her career in front of the head of the Albanian Government.
“An example that embodies the truth that when a person has a dream with open eyes, no matter how big it is, if they have all the internal strength to pursue it, they can achieve it. Ermonela Jaho,” stated the Prime Minister at the opening of the podcast.
“To be very honest, I kept a diary of how I wanted things to be, in other words, the dream that started somewhere, precisely at the Palace of Pioneers, and others until one day, I wanted to sing Traviata at La Scala, Desdemona in Otello, and others in theaters all over the world. A kind of madness, but it was this fantasy that I had put on a list; I will get here, I will do this, I will do that, and I still have this diary to this day,” the soprano told Rama.
Jaho has returned to Albania to hold a second singing seminar at the Academy of the Opera Theater, where besides young Albanians, there has also been interest from foreigners.
“The students who have come for this workshop are not only Albanians but also from Serbia, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and from the region,” Jaho shared.
The masterclass is being held in Tirana over these four days and is offered free of charge by the well-known soprano.
