Following the surge in the number of fatalities and infections caused by COVID-19, the PM of Kosovo, Albin Kurti has called off his flight to Austria, where he was invited to participate in the European Forum Alpbach 2021.
Instead, Kurti has now convened an urgent meeting of the National Security Council, without giving any further detail regarding the motive behind the meeting.
“We will be announcing the time of the meeting promptly,” said the government’s notice.
During the month of August, the number of new infections and unfortunate fatalities linked to the virus has risen exponentially.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 2.421 citizens lost their lives, while medical professionals confirm that the majority of causalities had underlying health conditions.
