The agreement for immigrants between Albania and Italy is back in the news as 8 immigrants from Egypt and Bangladesh arrive in Shengjin. This is the second group of immigrants sent to Albania after another group sent in October were returned after just 2 days due to a decision of the Italian Court.
Albania will be the next host of the European political community comprising the participation of 47 leaders. Prime Minister Edi Rama announced from Hungary at the latest summit that the next meeting will take place in Tirana during the first half of 2025.
Albania is set to establish a NATO naval base on its territory. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, stated that talks on the idea, presented previously by Prime Minister Edi Rama, are at an advanced stage with NATO leadership.
Electric SCOOTERs have become a problem in Albania, like in many other countries. Recent data shows that so far in 2024, 554 accidents involving electric scooters were recorded, an average of 2 per day. Road safety experts say that Albania does not have suitable infrastructure for the devices.
