The opposition democratic party has demanded Olta Xhacka’s removal from parliament, two days after the opinion given by the Venice Commission on her mandate. However, the majority argues that Venice’s stance is in favor of the MP and she will remain in her position as MP.
The family of Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj has appealed the decision of the Special Court against crime and corruption to search their apartment last weekend. The wife and brother of the mayor claim that the inspections were carried out in violation of the law.
The average property sale price in Tirana is estimated to be 1250 euro per square metre, surpassing 2600 euro per square metre in expensive areas such as Farka and the artificial lake. Prices have also risen throughout the whole country, even in towns and smaller villages.
