The headlines from Thursday 17 October
There were tensions and chaos in the Assembly on Thursday as Excluded MPs of the Opposition were not allowed to enter the session. A number of deputies clashed with the guards outside the Assembly hall.
The opposition has accused the Speaker of Parliament Elisa spiropali of allowing special forces and armed policemen in the assembly. MP Luan Baçi claims that he was threatened with a pistol by an officer. The Ministry of Interior denies the accusations while the PD warned they will file charges in SPAK.
The figures of foreign trade is falling. According to the data of the Albanian Institute of Statistics, the exports of Albanian products decreased by 8.5% during the month of September, due in part to the fluctuation of the Euro exchange rate.
The leaders of the far right parties of the European Union countries are in favor of agreements to take immigrants to third countries outside the EU, such as the pact between Albania and Italy. Viktor Orban called it a good agreement while Dutchman Geert Wilders says he sees an Ugandan-like variant for his country.
Striker Armando Broja will not return to the ranks of the Albanian national team this month, as he has not yet fully recovered from an injury. The 23-year-old will be ready in November to be part of the team in the Nations League matches.
