A ship filled with suspected toxic waste arrived at the Port of Durrës on Monday after being rejected by the Thai authorities. The prosecution seized the load of 2100 tons and has requested its analysis. Environmentalists state that the government must find a solution for waste disposal.

The opposition will hold the second national civil disobedience protest tomorrow. At 17:00, main roads will blocked in Tirana, near Milot and Shkoze as well as roundabouts in Rrogozhine, Levan and bradashesh, The organizers of the rally have asked police for 3 hours of permission to stage the protest.

The People’s Advocate has launched an investigation into the procedures followed by the State Police during the arrest of former President Ilir Meta. Footage of the arrest sparked concerns locally and meta claims that during detention by the police officers, violence was used and his rights were not guaranteed.

Durim Bami, one of Albania’s most wanted criminals was arrested in Dubai. Bami is accused of a number of criminal offences, including ordering murders, drug trafficking and creating a criminal organization. This is the second time that Bami has been arrested in Dubai, and it is not yet known whether he will be extradited to Albania.

The 2025 budget is expected to reach 7.5 billion euros, 14% more than the current year. The increase in size is due investments, pension increases, and concession projects.
