The Regional Forum on Good Governance and the Fight Against Corruption was held this Thursday, where the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, the Head of SPAK (Prosecutor’s Office), Altin Dumani and the Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Spiropali also participated.

The chief prosecutor of SPAK, Altin Dumani, said that as far as organized crime is concerned, they have had success with characters who were previously considered untouchable, while adding that the seizure of criminal assets and the crime of corruption amounts to 150 million euros.

“Crime has evolved, the burden falls on us to adapt to this level, as SPAK we have tried to invest in this aspect, the results are tangible. SPAK can be considered a consolidated structure

International cooperation, another priority of SPAK, is vital. We have built a very constructive partnership in the countries of the EU and the Western Balkans, I would single out cooperation in the region with North Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo

The results of SPAK, in the month of December we make 5 years since the beginning of its operation, we have proven that we have capacities for criminal prosecution regardless of the political and public profile.

As far as organized crime is concerned, we have had results, characters that were never thought to be affected. Even the attack on criminal assets and the crime of corruption, amounting to 150 million euros, have not been left out of SPAK’s focus,” said Altin Dumani.
