The American ambassador in Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, hosted some Kosovo Serb politicians in a meeting on Tuesday to discuss important issues for their community.
“I had the opportunity to be the host of some Serbian political representatives of Kosovo today. Different opinions and pluralism are components of any strong and healthy democracy. I reiterated our unwavering support for a sovereign, multi-ethnic and democratic Kosovo,” wrote Hovenier on X, former Twitter.
At the meeting, according to a photo published by the ambassador on August 22, were present, the leader of the Kosovo Serb Party, Aleksandar Jablanović, the chairman of the Kosovo Serb Movement, Branimir Stojanović, the chairman of the Civic Initiative for Zubin Potok, Milija Biševac, and the chairman of the “Serbian Survival” Initiative, Aleksandar Arsenijević.
Hovenier did not elaborate on what was discussed about the issues of the Serbian community in Kosovo.
In Kosovo, the largest Serb party is Serbian List, which is supported by official Belgrade. In the last ten years, Serbian List has won both local and general elections.
