The US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim declared earlier today that the Justice Reform should continue and that it should become reality.
During the conference organized by the Helsinki Committee, where leaders from KLGJ and KLP, were also present, ambassador Kim stated that the active monitoring of the institutions of justice is essential.
“The Helsinki Committee has monitored the performance of the High Judicial Council and the High Council of Prosecution,” said the ambassador.
“As we’ve said before, the reform on justice won’t be fast, it’s not easy, and it won’t be perfect. But, we should continue to move forward and we are moving forward and we are monitoring its every step. Sometimes these steps are hurtful, sometimes they are hard, sometimes they’re blocked, but we have to keep moving forward,” stated the US ambassador.
Earlier, the US ambassador to Albania, emphasized through a post on her private social media account that the US supports all efforts made by Albanian prosecutors in order to bring the justice reform forward, to fortify the rule of law and to further strengthen the democratic institutions in the country.
