Analyst Xhelal Neziri commented during an interview for Euronews Albania on the December 6 meeting in Tirana between the leaders of the European Union.
According to him, this is a message for the Albanian government to leave the Open Balkans.
“Tirana is the only country without which the Open Balkans would actually be undone. The Open Balkans currently works because there are 3 of the 6 nations of the Western Balkans,” said Neziri.
He said that a cooperation between Serbia and North Macedonia has worked even before this initiative, therefore the departure of Albania would put an end to the Open Balkans.
“I think it is a message for the Albanian government that instead of wasting time with the Open Balkans, it would be better to take a leading role in the Berlin Process, a process which also has the support of Germany as a main factor within the Union European,” said Neziri.
