The voluntary organization Animal Rescue Albania (ARSA) denounced on Monday the cruel murder of a dog by dragging it by a car.
The event is alleged to have taken place in Sukth of Durres and for this ARSA has called on authorities to investigate and punish those responsible.
The accusation was accompanied by three photos on Instagram, which included a Renault Megane car with AA 940 YI license plate and the dog, Labrador, tied behind.
The dog appears trying to set free from the bond while the car counties to drive. In the third photo the dog appears to have surrendered and without any signs of life.
Euronews Albania asked the State Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more information, while ARSA has called on animal and nature lovers to send a series of requests demanding the launch of investigations.
According to the criminal code (Articles 207 / b; 207 / c), amended last year after ARSA itself engaged with a petition of 37,500 signatures, mistreatment or killing of animals is punishable by a fine or up to six months in prison.
