Curiosity to try everything offered, has led teenagers to a new trend and that is SNUS, a product with synthetic nicotine. Tobacco and alcohol expert Roland Shuperka says that SNUS is designed for smokers who want to break the addiction and totally prohibited for teenagers.
But, this is not stopping the teenagers, so the appeal of the expert goes to the state authorities.
What has led young people to use SNUS, are the models from celebrities.
Concerned about the smoking situation in Albania, Shuperka says that the law is not being implemented. He takes Kosovo as an example, a country which has started drafting a new law.
Smoking by teenagers has become an alarm for the World health experts. The latest data speak of an increase in children aged 13-15 in the ranks of smokers. Based on this situation, the WHO has decided that the focus of the world anti-tobacco day on May 31, 2024, should be the prevention of smoking among teenagers. Globally, 1 in 5 adults are smokers, while the objective is to reduce the number of consumers by 2030.
