A graffiti that reads “When the army returns to Kosovo” has appeared in the courtyard of the Technical School in North Mitrovica. The graffiti, written in Cyrillic, is colored with the colors of the Serbian flag.
The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North Region, Veton Elshani, confirmed for Radio Free Europe that the law enforcement authorities were informed about the content of this graffiti through social networks, writes REL.
He said that the police have come to the scene and are consulting with the prosecutor about this case.
Since the end of July, graffiti with such an inscription has appeared in Belgrade and other cities in Serbia. Such graffiti was also seen in Banja Llukë in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August.
The graffiti was created by fans of the football club Crvena Zvezda, after a friendly match with the Italian club Fiorentina on July 26 in Belgrade.
The graffiti message is part of a folk song sung by Metropolitan Amfilohije of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Bishop Atanasije.
In February of this year, activists of the organization Youth Initiative for Human Rights and the Krokodili Association painted this graffiti red in Belgrade’s Slavija Square.
However, it has been recreated in that place, and several other places in Belgrade.
