The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted to the recent news of the arrest of former senior FBI official, Charles McGonigal, due to his cooperation with a Russian oligarch as well as his acceptance of a large sum of money from another country’s government official.
McGonigal is accused of also covering up a meeting with Prime Minister Rama in 2017.
During a press conference this Tuesday, Meta commented on the news about the involvement and role of Prime Minister Edi Rama in this case as well as his meeting with McGonigal.
In his remarks, the head of PL emphasized that the most insincere relationship is the one between Prime Minister Rama and the USA, which was built through scandals.
Meta invited citizens to be patient as other scandals will come to light, at least according to him.
“The most insincere relationship in the world is the one between Edi Rama and America. From Bilal to Charles, scandal after scandal. This shows that it was not a relationship of values, but of affairs. A corruption rapport with the aim of poisoning Albanian-American friendship. It is known and widely recognized that all Albanians share the best values and consideration for the USA, from 1990 to the present day. I am sure that other scandals will emerge. I have long told you about the existence of an international mafia. Be patient, there will be more,” said Meta.
