For the first time, the “Autonom Fest” festival was organized in Korça, an activity that brought together all the folklore groups of the Southeast region on a single stage. This festival aims to enrich and promote the rich cultural heritage of this region, highlighting the music, dances and folk traditions of the area.
One of the most exciting moments of the festival was the appearance of Myftar Bogdan, 64 years old, and Besmir Tropollari, 27 years old, from Pogradec. They surprised the audience with pastoral melodies which, according to them, have a history of over 100 years. Their special sounds evoked nostalgia and excitement in the audience.
Also present at the festival was the well-known clarinetist Alex Xhelili, who praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of such events, underlining the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous music.
“This was a good initiative to have an idea of how the folklore inventory stands. All the municipalities had tried for the best, if it will be done every year, I believe many things will be renewed, which will be passed on to the new generation. It is not easy, but with effort, it is a good climate with the new generation. It means they have come close to playing traditional things”, says Xhelili.
While the well-known singer of Devolli, Endri Fifo, singled out the role of young people in this festival, considering the festival an excellent opportunity to encourage the young generation to know and appreciate the musical tradition
