The prefect of Shkodra, Majlinda Angoni, said in an interview for Euronews Albania that the situation with the floods in Shkodra has improved during the last few hours.

“The situation at the moment appears to be calm. The rain has just stopped. We are experiencing a withdrawal of water from flooded surfaces. Families who were evacuated are returning to their homes. All road axes are accessible. In the early hours of the morning, we had an increase in the water level in Obot, but the situation has improved”, said Angoni.

She said that there is an increase in the level of Buna as a result of the arrival of water from Montenegro.

Meanwhile, Angoni emphasized that there are landslides in Puka and Fushe-Arres.

According to her, the two axes in Tamara and Boga are blocked but are now accessible.

“We had a swelling of the Kir river that caused us to flood the village of Kuc and Ajasma. With these flows, it is impossible not to open the gates of the HPPs”, she said.
