The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, reacted today to Prime Minister Edi Rama, criticizing him over the way he is handling the flood situation affecting several areas of the country.

Berisha writes that while hundreds of citizens from Gjirokastër to Shkodër are suffering the consequences of the floods, Rama failed to address their situation.

The Democratic Party leader stresses that while citizens are seeking help and a swift institutional response to manage the emergency, the prime minister’s focus appears to be directed toward political issues.

Full post (translated):

“Dear friends, in his repulsive monologue today, Ramaduro did not speak about the plight of tens of thousands of citizens from Gjirokastër to Shkodër whose homes have been flooded.

In this, he did well, because aside from the weather, another major cause of their difficult situation is he himself and his ministers who, insatiable, have stolen funds intended for investments in flood-protection infrastructure.

But Ramaduro spoke about his own personal issues.

As a hostage to ‘Lubia,’ after blocking through his 83 mandates of crime the lifting of her immunity and her arrest, today he once again attacked his own justice system, which according to him ‘is neither impartial nor of quality.’

With these accusations, Ramaduro proves that he does not accept and will not accept the decisions of prosecutors and judges, because in his view they are not impartial and are ignorant, lacking quality.

With this stance, Rama once again admits his guilt, and this position is an appeal for every Albanian to rise up for his removal from power as soon as possible.”
