Balkan Sand Volleyball Championship has started in Pogradec. Countries such as Albania, Kosovo, Turkey, Romania and Moldova participate in this first edition. Three sports days with strong competition between participating teams in the two disciplines for women and men, say the organizers.
“This championship is a collaboration between the Albanian Volleyball Federation and the Pogradec Municipality. Even earlier, there were sports competitions in the sand, but not of Balkan proportions between the countries”, declared Klevis Cane, director of sports in Pogradec.
Albanian team does not seem to have many chances to win, after losing the first match against Romania, while the Kosovo teams remain potential contenders. The championship ends on Sunday.
