Speaking from the European Parliament’s headquarters in Strasbourg, Minister of State for Relations with Parliament Taulant Balla shared an important video message, calling the opening of the European Parliament’s office in Tirana this year a clear signal that Albania’s EU integration is near and assured.

“The European Parliament will soon have its own office in Tirana, which will serve the entire region. The choice of Tirana is not random—it reflects the strong support of the European Parliament for Albania’s swift accession to the EU, as well as its commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, the rule of law, and engagement with the Albanian people,” Balla stated.

He emphasized that the new office will serve as a strategic hub to deepen cooperation between Albanian and EU institutions.
“The office in Tirana will act as a crucial bridge, promoting dialogue, facilitating collaboration with institutions and civil society, and ensuring that the values and voices of Albanian citizens are fully reflected in our country’s ongoing EU accession process,” he said.

Balla called this move an encouraging sign for the government’s clear vision toward EU membership:
“Our vision is clear: we aim to close accession negotiations by 2027 and achieve full EU membership within the historic mandate entrusted to us by the Albanian people on May 11, with an unprecedented vote.”

In concluding his message, Minister Balla reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to European values:
“The European Union is not merely our destination—it is the reference point for governance, prosperity, and solidarity that our common Albania aspires to. Greetings to all from Strasbourg.”

Minister Balla was in Strasbourg for the meeting of the EU–Albania Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, where he represented the Albanian government and outlined the country’s achievements that support its readiness for EU membership.
