The Albanian Government is fully focused on fulfilling its commitments and the important role it plays in regional developments.
This was the message conveyed by Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku, during a meeting held in Washington with the U.S. Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar.
During their meeting, Balluku and Escobar discussed a range of issues related to recent developments in the region and the role Albania should play in this situation.
In a social media post, Balluku expresses that Escobar, who is one of the best experts on our region at the U.S. Department of State, along with his team, expressed their readiness to offer assistance in resolving the situation, as well as their determination to carry out reforms and vital processes for all Western Balkan countries.
“In Washington, I met with Gabriel Escobar, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, where we discussed critical issues for the region, recent developments, and above all, the important role that Albania and Prime Minister [Edi] Rama are playing in these decisive moments. Escobar remains one of the best experts on the region at the Department of State. He and his team are ready to assist in resolving situations and carrying out reforms and vital processes for the Western Balkan countries. I assured him that the Albanian Government is fully focused on fulfilling its commitments, and above all, we are aware of the important role we must play in the region and the positive example we must set,” said Balluku.
The Minister is currently on a visit to the United States, where she has had several important meetings and participated in the Conference on Regional Cooperation for the Western Balkans, organized by the Transatlantic Leadership and the Atlantic Council.
